Young Man in 20s

Client, a young man in his 20’s, was involved in an automobile accident while riding in a friend’s car. He lost sight in one eye as a result, and there was nothing medically that could be done to restore his vision.

His friend’s automobile insurance was only for the minimum of $20,000.00. However, Attorney Hoffman was able to access the underinsurance provision of the client’s insurance policy through his household. Attorney Hoffman was able to recover a total of $100,000.00 for the client by settling with the driver’s carrier for the policy limit of $20,000.00 and then obtaining $80,000 from the client’s underinsured policy, the maximum amount representing the difference between the $100,000.00 limit and the $20,000.00 limit.

While an unfortunate situation, the result was the best possible under the circumstances.
