Stephen Hoffman received his law degree from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis in 1990.  He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association.  Prior to attending law school, he received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University.

During his extensive legal career, Attorney Stephen Hoffman has personally handled nearly every type of legal dispute that exists and has tried dozens of cases in the courts and hundreds in front of arbitration panels.  The types of legal matters that he has worked on over the years have ranged from medical malpractice cases and wrongful death matters to slip and fall injuries, motor vehicle crashes, roadway accidents, defective product claims, and workplace injuries.  Attorney Hoffman has appeared in federal court, county courts, and workers’ compensation hearing rooms throughout Chicago and across the state, from the hallowed halls of the grandly decorated courtrooms in downtown Chicago to small municipal courtrooms all over Illinois.

For over fifteen years, Stephen Hoffman has served regularly as a Chair-qualified Arbitrator for the Cook County Mandatory Arbitration System, where he swears in witnesses, hears evidence, rules on objections, and works with fellow arbitrators on the panel to render an award.  Stephen is also an active member of the Chicago Bar Association.  He was honored to be elected as the 2009-10 Vice Chair of the Chicago Bar Association Solo and Small Practitioner Committee and was selected as the Co-Chair for 2010-2011.  He is also a past Chair and past Vice-Chair of the Solo and Small Practitioner Committee, as well as a past Legislative Liaison for the Bar Association’s Tort Litigation Committee.

Stephen takes his responsibility to the legal profession seriously and dedicates much of his time and effort to providing quality and competent legal representation to clients in Chicago and greater Illinois.  In his free time, he serves as the elected president of his condominium association.  He is also a certified Spinning instructor who teaches regularly.  He currently resides in the Uptown neighborhood with his wife.
