I am Stephen L. Hoffman and I have been practicing law since 1990 and have experience in a diverse array of legal settings. One of my primary goals is to be a personal liaison between what you do best and what I do best. My aim is to be as polite, professional, and approachable as I can be. You will get the advantage of dealing only with me and you will get personal attention to your matter by me. Communication is the key to any relationship, business or personal, and one thing all lawyers should do better is communicate regularly with their clients. I have always made client communication a priority and believe that personal attention is tantamount to good representation.

For example, when we go to see a doctor we expect to have the procedure explained to us and like to have some idea of what it might cost (or whether insurance covers some or all of it). Similarly, I think all legal clients are entitled to have the process explained, and receive an estimate of what needs to be done and how much it will cost. No surprise bills, no risks that you were not made aware of at first, and no endless litigation that was not contemplated initially. Finally, people deserve to have their phone calls returned as soon as possible. No excuses.

I am a hands-on lawyer. I am the only one who works on your case. Most of all, I listen to what you want to have done legally, and I do what I can to accomplish this. Your case will be handled by me; not some new associate who has a senior partner reviewing his or her work. This means you will be billed for the work I do, thus eliminating the bill for the associate and partner you often get from larger firms. Simply, this is my firm and my reputation and when you hire me you can call me your lawyer.

Nobody wants to spend money on something they don’t understand so why would legal services be any different? I will explain the legal process to you directly and do my utmost to keep your bill as low as is reasonable for the services offered. You deserve to understand what you are paying for and receive an overview of how the process works.

You will be treated with respect and dignity and your questions will be answered. Work will be done in a professional, prompt manner and all major decisions on how to proceed will be discussed with you. I work for you and you are a partner of mine!
